Cody Huneycutt for NC House: District 67
My candidacy for North Carolina House District 67 is based on the conviction to continue to serve Stanly and Montgomery counties in the most positively impactful way possible.
As your Representative, I will provide a healthy balance of common-sense policy solutions, while standing on core conservative Republican principles.
I’m proud to have been born and raised in Stanly County, where I met and married my high school sweetheart.
I earned an Associate of Arts degree from Stanly Community College, becoming the first in my family to obtain a college degree.
I later graduated with a double major in Political Science and History from UNC– Charlotte.
Over the past 8 years, I have worked within the North Carolina General Assembly, wearing various hats as a staff member within the N.C. House of Representatives.
In my time as staff at the N.C. General Assembly, I have learned how to use common sense approaches in collaboration with others to come up with solutions to help our communities and preserve our freedoms.
I have a proven track record of working on many issues to include cutting taxes, promoting policies to reduce the role of big government, and securing funds that were directly invested in Stanly and Montgomery counties.
I have assisted and advised on policy within committees such as Finance, Unemployment Insurance, Banking and Revenue Laws, Health, and Appropriations.
My experience in what is required of the role of “Representative” helps equip me to be the best candidate for District 67 and will allow me to hit the ground running once I get to Raleigh as a House member, to continue to serve our district and make an immediate impact.
Although I have commuted to Raleigh for work, I have continued to live in Stanly County where I can be surrounded by my family, tend to my cattle farm, and remain involved in the rural community that I value so much. Having grown up in a farming family and being a cattle farmer myself, I understand first-hand the importance of conserving our farmlands and easing burdens on farmers.
We cannot expect affordable groceries when housing developments are being planted where crops have always been.
During today’s world of high inflation and struggles from paycheck to paycheck, I will fight to bring good paying jobs to our district and cut unnecessary red tape on local businesses in order to promote healthy growth.
I will continue to advocate for increasing ease of access to healthcare in our area and enhancing our education system while encouraging parents to have a greater voice in how schools are operated and what is taught in the classroom.
By voting Cody Huneycutt for N.C. House, the citizens of Stanly and Montgomery counties can be confident that I will be working tirelessly on your behalf, using my eduction and experience to effectively serve you.
I kindly ask for your prayers, your support, and your votes.
Thank you and God bless.
